Anan Zahr is a Palestinian-American chef, cultural advocate, and former restaurateur passionate about preserving her heritage through food. Born in Akka, Palestine, she moved to the U.S. as a child, bringing with her a deep connection to her roots.

In 2000, Anan opened Olive Tree Mediterranean Gourmet, a beloved Wilmington restaurant, and continues to share her culinary expertise through demonstrations, Instagram, and collaborations like her work with Truelove Seeds to grow native Palestinian vegetables. For Anan, food is more than sustenance—it’s a powerful link to her culture, a way to inspire others, and a stand against the erasure of Palestinian traditions.
